Master the Tempest is Raging

After a full day of classes (3 hours of New Testament and 2 hours of Ancient Near East Studies) we were so glad to go on a field trip the next day! Our day started with a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee.

We couldn't have asked for a better day. The sun was shining, the sea was calm, and I can't even do justice to the view.

We stopped in the middle of the lake and our captain raised an American flag and then blasted the national anthem. It was so good to see that flag again!

Then he raised the Israeli flag and our professor, Dr. Chadwick, sang the Israeli national anthem for us.

After our fun little national pride moment, we had a devotional. We sang Master the Tempest is Raging and listened as Sister Jones told us of the tempest she had in her life. I know that the Savior is there to calm the sea if we will just ask him.

We ended the ride with a quick look at this 1st century boat. It was found in the mud during a drought that caused the Sea of Galilee to recede. This was fishing boats would have looked like during the time of Jesus

Until my next adventure,
Lindy
